We have a new teacher at Cheshire School of Music. Give a warm welcome to Cathal, from Ireland!

Cathal is here to provide excellent quality piano and clarinet lessons for beginner and advanced musicians alike.

Cathal has a large musical career, has a Bachelors of Music Education and has been invited to play for groups such as the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic.

With vast expertise and a friendly personality, Cathal is the perfect teacher for anyone who wants to master the piano or the clarinet.

It is delightful to have Cathal as a new member of our team.

Congratulations to Fiona for her successful recording for the BBC! Fiona played some Brahms for Radio 4 which will be featured in the upcoming radio show "Last Man Standing".

The recording was done at Shackleford Pianos on a fantastic Steingraeber A170 grand piano and went brilliantly!

Allow us to introduce our newest teacher, violinist Chris Emerson! 👏

Originally, Chris was from Australia but moved to the United Kingdom in 1999. He studied the viola at the Australian Institute of Music and gained a Bachelors of Music Performance. Chris has also been playing the violin since he was 4 years old and is even a member of the Hallé Orchestra in the viola section - I guess you could say he has a lot of experience!

It is our pleasure to have Chris as a member of our team.

A warm welcome to the newest member of our team, cellist Rachel Newbold 👏

Rachel took up the cello at age seven. Having developed her playing under the tutors of Hertfordshire Music Service and winning the Peter Lambourne Youth Bursary Prize for music in North Hertfordshire, she went on to study for her undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, under Gillian Thoday. Here she took a variety of opportunities to perform abroad with RNCM Symphony Orchestra, as well as closer to home in the Manchester International Festival. Rachel studied for her postgraduate degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, under Ursula Smith. As a soloist, she has been selected for masterclasses with Ralph Kirshbaum, Victoria Simonsen and Alexander Baillie.

Now juggling a busy freelance career at various concerts, events and performances across the country, Rachel is also a keen cello tutor, previously holding teaching posts at music schools in both Manchester and London. She regularly gives music workshops with young people, with a particular interest in the Early Years sector.
