It's Cocoa playdoh!

We pressed our chosen leaves firmly into the dough then used our rollers to press the leaves into the dough, we carefully peeled the leaves back holding the stem and observed as our prints were revealed.
We then used strands of string to create leaf veins.

We are having a Halloween Party
🥳 🎃🧙‍♀️🧹☠️💀🎉🥳
Children are invited to dress up all week in their favourite costumes, Spooky or not so we can all join in with the spooktacular run up to Halloween.
We have outings planned such as skeleton trails and the big scarecrow hunt during the half term week also.

Today we went on a walk to our local park. Collecting a variety of coloured leaves,pinecones,conkers but sadly no acorns again. We hope the Squirrels have plenty stored away..
We took out our new wagon, the perfect transport for tired legs after an adventurous walk.

This clearly was the ultimate satisfying feeling in the world. The intent was conker rolling, making patterns using the paints, observing the effects of paint on conkers to test the speed.
Will the paint make the conkers more slippery and how this affects the speed in which they roll.

However to the children it was'nt about any of the above. It was about mixing the colours together they called this "Making rainbows" and decided their way of doing this was by using their hands and being 'in the moment' of absolute fun!
Spinning the conkers back and forth and watching as the paint transfers onto each conker.
The sensory experience of it was definitley something each and everyone of them enjoyed and the question of interupting their play was'nt an option. Let them be!
Let them play how they like and let them all learn from their own experiences.

So this is why the children's clothes were dripping wet down to their shoes.
And this is why they come to me😃🤩🤣

Whilst our little ones slept somebody had some 1.1 time with me!
We spent it making Apple playdoh using our freshly picked apples.
We had to peel the apples, chop, then blend to make a puree. Then we added our flour,lemon,cream of tartar and a splash of green.
We mixed and mixed adding water until the chef was happy with the consistency.
Now the scent of apple spice has filled the air 🍎🥮🍁🍂🍏

Apple Washing 🍏🍎🪥
Before playgroup we used our brushes to give our apples a scrub!
Soft bristles, hard bristles,thick bristles and tough bristles. We gave our apples a well needed wash and even gave them a spin using our hands then observed them spinning and rolling around in the water.
