While using different coloured paints for their hair, eyes and skin colour. They have been learning to recognise themselves and using communication and language to talk about the colours they were using and finding their own facial features.

Toddlers have enjoyed colour mixing to as they have been role playing to be fire fighters for their theme, they have been making ‘fire’ by then using a hose pipe to was away. All encouraging their fine motor skills and imagination skills.

Graduation Ceremony 🎓
A few weeks ago our Preschool children enjoyed celebrating there Graduation Ceremony with their families at nursery, we wish all our Graduates Good luck for their new adventures as they move on to school this year. Toddlers have been learning about people who help us in the community, they have been role playing as doctors and nurses. They have been using their imagination skills as they used plasters, bandages to care for their friends and baby dolls. They also enjoyed wearing the outfits, from our lovely staff member Penny brought in for the children to enjoy 😀

Babies have enjoyed practicing their fine motor and mark making skills, by using different writing skills to grasp. They enjoyed noticing the different marks they could make. Practioners encourage language by talking about the marks they make, also naming the colours they can see.

Preschool have been learning about themselves for their ‘All about me’ topic for July, they have been using old rolls to practice their cutting skills. They have also been using different markers to decorate them to reflect themselves.

A big part of our Baby room is messy play texture explore the sensory explorations, they also practice and adapt their activities for the youngest to explore sensory texture. Also for the older children to practice their maths skills of emptying and pouring container skills.

Babies have enjoyed mark making in sand, they enjoy using different materials to move around in the sand. They enjoy noticing the different marks they can make, for this activity they enjoyed using paint brushes to move around in the sand. As they enjoyed noticing the marks they could make, practitioners encouraged the children to move the brushes in different lines and circles to notice what they were doing.

Toddlers have been making their own Sand bottles, by choosing their own coloured sand they like. They enjoyed mixing the sand through funnels in to the bottles, they enjoyed watching the coloured sand mix together. This enhanced the children’s pouring and concentration skills, while exploring colour mixing.
