Macc-Pow! returns with another fabulously full weekend celebrating comics and comic art in magnificent style, the only way we know how! This is a truly unique event for the Macclesfield, bringing together both local and international comic creators from the world of comics! Our festival gives you the chance to meet with legendary comic professionals from over the past 40 years of comics, and the super bright stars of the future, celebrating this wonderful world with a diverse mix of amazing creators.

The MAIN COMICS MARKETPLACE takes place at Macclesfield Town Hall on Saturday 27th June, 10-4pm with FREE ENTRY to THREE rooms bursting with incredible comic creators selling and exhibiting their work.

There will also be a FULL weekend of FREE film screenings, pop-ups in bookshops, cafes and bars, exhibitions in libraries, bars and museums, FREE workshops in the Town Hall and Macclesfield Library and so much more!

MENACINGLY GOOD With BEANO Cartoonist NIGEL PARKINSON (6+) On Sunday 28th June, 10.30-11.30am at Room for comics.

Our first workshop is hosted by DENNIS THE MENACE and GNASHER cartoonist NIGEL PARKINSON! Nigel has been drawing these classic characters for the BEANO since 1999, and he’s showing no signs of stopping. To celebrate Dennis turning 75, and not looking a day over 10, Nigel will show you how to create a menacingly good cartoon of your own, alongside his long-time colourist NIKA.
Parents/Adults: You’re welcome to stay and watch the fun, or drop off and grab a coffee from the fantastic Flour Water Salt bakery downstairs.

I’LL DRAW ANYTHING! With Cartoonist/Author JAMES KOCHALKA (6+) On Sunday 28th June, 12.30-1.30pm at Room for comics!

Join our esteemed international guest James Kochalka, as he’ll take your challenges to show you how to drawing anything! James’ style is unique, and he’s worked on SpongeBob Squarepants comics, Dr. Suess characters, Ninja Turtles, and even the Power-rangers! All in his unique way! This is a must-attend chance to draw with a cartoonist that embodies the spirit of fun in the funny pages!

Parents/Adults: You’re welcome to stay and watch the fun, or drop off and grab a coffee from the fantastic bakery downstairs.
