Please be aware that roadworks are taking place on the A527 Leek Road from today, including the stretch near school.

Blossom Class have been learning about the rainforest this week inspired by the book ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson. We have enjoyed messy gloop and creating habitats for different endangered animals. We tried different animal diets and created animal masks. Chalk inspired rainforest colours and we camouflaged lost animals.

It has been a very busy World Book Day in Blossom Class today. We have enjoyed reading books about animals with ‘Explorer Forbes’. We have shown bravery by pressing teeth of a crocodile and going on a jungle adventure, looking for clues of different animals habitats. Back in the classroom we showed kindness to endangered animals by looking after them and making sure they are healthy. In the afternoon,we enjoyed an animal diet at the Reading cafe, we were all carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and with some help from Oak Class we enjoyed more animals stories.

Blossom Class have been exploring the South and North Pole with the story ‘Poles Apart’. This inspired us to paint with cool shades, draw penguins, create maps with small world parts , make sensory bottles to represent icebergs and we even had time to investigate how pole bears and penguins keep warm with a blubber experiment.

This week we have enjoyed reading’Owl Babies’ . We have be busy role playing the story, creating owls, exploring the setting and designing a new home for them to live in. We even had time to make chocolate nests with three eggs to represent the owls. Then, we walked back to class very carefully ,keeping our eggs safe.
