That English Tutor

Final session with some of my Year 11 students today and I’m so grateful to have worked with such dedicated, thoughtful, diligent teens this year. They deserve to do really well and I’m confident their results will reflect all their hard work.

GCSE results day and I’m so proud of my students! They all achieved grades ranging from 5 to 9 in both Language and Literature with no re-sits required for any of them. I know they will feel immense relief that all their hard work paid off. I’m very happy for them all.

That’s it for 2024! The final English GCSE is over, my students have done everything they can. What now for them? The best summer holiday of their lives! And for me? An anxious wait until results day!

I'm Karen. I'm a Secondary School English tutor and a Primary School teacher. I have a honors degree in English and have been passionate about the subject for as long as I can remember.

I work with children from Year 6 taking their 11+, all the way up to Year 11 GCSE students.

I love this subject and work on building confidence in students who struggle, as well as challenging those who are capable but need a shot of enthusiasm!

I specialise in exam technique for the Year 9 exams, Year 10 mocks and Year 11 GCSEs.

I have excellent reviews and build strong relationships with my students, leading to a marked increase in attainment.

Sessions take place either at my home in Macclesfield, or online via Skype.
