The sessions I had planned this week went by wayside because of the wind. Instead we chased, threw and jumped in leaves, found the biggest, the smallest, the 'cutest'. We found all the colours and discussed tree life cycles and named trees on the sites.We pretended to be trees and talked about different weather types and seasons. We worked as a team and made leaf garlands and wreaths. And a huge pile for the hedgehogs, another as they wanted to make compost. This is why I love my job. Children in nature learning naturally, leading and moving the way their bodies and minds want to go.

Fly Agaric, the prettiest mushroom of them all. Usually found near Birch where they transfer nutrients to the tree roots. Used by druids and shamans. Beloved by reindeer and fairies.
