One of those proper St Annes days. ❤️

A walk along the prom, dogs on the beach, a ride on the little train, the beach huts open and a bit of sunshine breaking through the clouds.

Sometimes the simple seaside days are the best ones.

Well… for everyone who wanted the Beach Huts actually on the beach - we’ve finally managed it 😂

Never seen the sand blowing onto the promenade quite like this.

It’s piled up around the huts, across the prom and even over the Miniature Railway track.

Just another Sunday morning in St Annes 🌬️🏖️

Schools are back, the promenade’s quiet… and September suddenly decides to give us this ☀️

Warm, calm and barely a breath of wind. Not a bad way to spend five minutes in St Annes.

In 1901, a whale washed up on the beach at Fairhaven, close to the Marine Lake outlet.

It was around 13 feet long and drew crowds down to see it.

But the strangest part came afterwards - a contemporary report says some visitors began cutting pieces from the whale to take away as mementoes. 😳

High tide in St Annes today 🌊

We’re usually looking out over miles of sand, so it always feels a bit strange when the sea comes right back in.

Rough water, kite surfers out, and waves reaching the promenade.
