A-Level Spotlight 2026: William S

William achieved an impressive A*AAB and will go on to study at Lancaster University. A Scholar at AKS, he has demonstrated strong academic ability alongside a willingness to challenge himself beyond the classroom.

William also achieved his Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, developing independence, resilience and teamwork through the programme.

His academic achievements were recognised at this year’s Senior School Prizegiving, where he received the Doris Bailey Physics Prize, celebrating his talent and achievement in the subject.

William’s excellent A-Level results provide a fitting conclusion to his time at AKS and reflect his hard work and academic commitment.

A-Level Spotlight 2026: Kirtika S

Kirtika achieved an excellent A*A A and will go on to study at the University of Leicester. As Medical Society Leader, she has combined academic success with leadership and an impressive commitment to the wider life of AKS.

A talented vocalist and dedicated sportswoman, Kirtika has contributed enthusiastically to both the musical and sporting life of the school, performing at concerts and key events while embracing opportunities across school sport.

At this year’s Senior School Prizegiving, Kirtika’s achievements were recognised with the Littlechild Memorial Prize for Chemistry, the Roberts Family Trophy for Commitment to All School Sport and the William Salthouse Prize for Commitment and Achievement in Choral Singing.

From science and leadership to music and sport, Kirtika’s achievements reflect the breadth of her contribution to AKS.

A-Level Spotlight 2026: Will S

Will achieved AAA and is heading to the University of Leeds, rounding off a hugely successful final year at AKS.

Rugby has been at the heart of Will’s school experience. As Captain of the 1st XV, he has been an important figure in Senior Rugby, leading a team in which commitment, camaraderie and determination have been key. His talent has also been recognised beyond school through his involvement with the Sale Sharks Academy.

Taking on the 1st XV captaincy has given Will the opportunity not only to perform at a high level, but to encourage and lead those around him, making a valuable contribution to the culture of rugby at AKS.

With three excellent A-Level grades alongside his sporting achievements, Will has plenty to celebrate as his time at AKS comes to an end.

A-Level Spotlight 2026: Evangeline D

Evangeline achieved AAB and will go on to study at the University of Sheffield. A Drama Scholar and Deputy Head of School, she has played a prominent role in life at AKS, bringing creativity, compassion and a strong sense of service to her many commitments.

Performing Arts has been an important part of Evangeline’s school journey, with her talent and enthusiasm seeing her contribute to productions and performances throughout her time at AKS. Beyond the stage, she completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, celebrated at a special Gold Award event at Buckingham Palace.

Evangeline also demonstrated her entrepreneurial flair as a member of Trinket Box, the AKS team that won the Business for Good category at the national Tycoons Final.

Her exceptional contribution to school life was recognised at Senior School Prizegiving, where she received the Fink Memorial Prize for RS, Library Prize, Charlton Trophy, Lawton Trophy, Elizabeth Walton Trophy for Outstanding Service to the School and the Brookes Prize for the girl who has made an outstanding contribution to Sixth Form Life.

Evangeline’s achievements reflect someone who has contributed wholeheartedly to the AKS community through performance, leadership, enterprise and service.

Harry achieved an outstanding A*A*A and will go on to study at the University of Bath. An exceptional academic and accomplished sportsman, Harry has combined his studies with a passion for tennis throughout his time at AKS.

At this year’s Senior School Prizegiving, Harry’s academic achievements were recognised with two prestigious awards, the Dr Barry Clayton Prize for Economics and the Nuttall Prize for Business Studies.

Harry leaves AKS with an impressive record of academic and sporting achievement. His results are a fitting reflection of the hard work and ambition he has shown throughout his Sixth Form journey.

A-Level Spotlight 2026: Rhys N

Rhys achieved an outstanding A*A*A* and will go on to study at Lancaster University. Throughout his time at AKS, Rhys has balanced impressive academic success with an enthusiasm for communication, performance and enterprise, while taking on the responsibility of Deputy Head of School.

A confident performer and keen podcaster, Rhys has made his mark across the creative life of the school. He has also been an active member of the VENT team, using his voice and ideas to contribute positively to the wider AKS community.

His entrepreneurial talents came to the fore as a member of Trinket Box, the AKS enterprise team that won the Business for Good category at the national Tycoons Final. The team created a sustainable range using recycled jewellery and upcycled sea glass, generating more than £2,000 in profit.

At this year’s Senior School Prizegiving, Rhys was awarded the Listen Memorial Prize for Mathematics, the Mosely Prize and the Bell Prize, recognising his academic achievement and contribution to AKS.

His impressive results are a fitting conclusion to a Sixth Form journey characterised by achievement, involvement and a willingness to make a difference.

A-Level Spotlight 2026: Eve C

Eve achieved an excellent A*A A and will go on to study at the University of Edinburgh. A mainstay of Performing Arts at AKS, Eve has been an accomplished vocalist throughout her school career, making a significant contribution to choirs, bands, concerts and school productions.

Her musical talent and commitment have seen her become a familiar presence on the AKS stage, contributing enthusiastically to the rich musical life of the school. At this year’s Senior School Prizegiving, this dedication was recognised with the Simpson Prize for Music.

Beyond Performing Arts, Eve has represented AKS in hockey, contributed as a member of the VENT team and achieved her Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, reflecting the breadth of her interests and involvement in school life.

From performances on stage to representing the school on the hockey pitch, she has brought talent and commitment to everything she has undertaken.

A-Level Spotlight 2026: Alfie K

Alfie achieved an outstanding A*A*A* and will go on to study at the University of Manchester. As Head of School and an Academic Scholar, he has made a significant contribution to AKS life, combining academic ambition with leadership, sport and a willingness to embrace opportunities beyond the classroom.

Sport has played an important part in Alfie’s school career. He has represented AKS in football, cricket and rugby, including travelling to Argentina on the Sixth Form Rugby Tour. He is also working towards his Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, demonstrating his commitment to challenge and personal development.

Alfie broadened his international experience through the Round Square trip to Colombia, while closer to home he contributed to AKS Action and took part in the National Tycoons in Schools Competition.

Alfie leaves AKS as an accomplished student and respected leader who has embraced the breadth of opportunities available to him. We wish him every success as he begins his next chapter at Manchester.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our Class of 2026 as they mark another strong set of A-Level results and look ahead to an exciting range of university destinations and specialist pathways across the UK. ⭐🎉

This year, 37% of all A-Level grades were awarded at A*/A, with 68% at A*-B, alongside some outstanding individual achievements. Yet today is about far more than grades. Throughout their Sixth Form journey, this remarkable year group has embraced everything AKS has to offer, from leadership, sport and performing arts to service, creativity and opportunities extending far beyond the classroom.

They leave us not only with strong academic foundations, but with the confidence, character and skills to embrace what comes next.
As Headmaster David Harrow reflects:
"I've been delighted by all that this super cohort has achieved, and most of all for the people they have become and the community they have created. That will be their legacy, and an inspiration to those that follow them."
