Holiday Club ☀️🐣🐰
The past four days have been full of fun and enjoyment in Heyhouses Holiday club. We have been very busy participating in so many fun activities including baking, painting, potion making, dancing, singing, playing in the nursery and reception garden. We have been creating lots of Easter crafts, decorating eggs, making clay figures, necklaces, fridge magnets and much more. We have also enjoyed getting out of nursery on walks around the school grounds, playing on the equipment, playing football on the field and joining in parachute games. The children also loved visiting the chickens and asked to go and see them each day. We finished the week with a fabulous Easter egg hunt, we had to follow the clues to find the next egg, the last one told us there was a delicious ice cream waiting for us back at nursery.

Hot cross buns
The children loved making delicious hot cross buns, developing their maths skills weighing the ingredients, working their gross motor skills mixing and working the dough and increasing their scientific knowledge by observing the changes to the ingredients throughout the process.

The children have been enjoying taking part in football sessions over the last few weeks ⚽️ They have had the opportunity to explore with the footballs freely as well as taking part in some focused activities. One of these activities involved the children working in pairs to carefully kick the ball to each other. They have enjoyed having this focused time to practice their physical skills together and we will continue to develop these further ⭐️

World book day 2026! 📚 To celebrate world book day the children came to nursery dressed as their favourite book characters. They loved showing off their outfits and admired their friends costumes too! The children have had the opportunity to take part in lots of story related activities as we celebrate our love for books ❤️ The children took part in a ‘book swap’ where they had the chance to explore the pop up library and swap their old book for a new one. ✨ They also took part in a stick man scavenger hunt all around the school grounds following clues to find stick man. Amongst this the children have loved following free play in their costumes using their imaginations together, it has been lovely to see them have so much fun! 💭⭐️

If a button battery is swallowed and gets stuck in the food pipe, energy from the battery reacts with saliva to create caustic soda. That’s the same chemical used to unblock drains!

This can burn through the food pipe, to the main artery and lead to life-changing internal injuries and death.

Even if a child survives these injuries, there is a risk that the food pipe is too badly damaged to eat normally again or the vocal cords are too badly damaged to speak normally again.

Please look around your home for button batteries. Think toys, lights, remote controls and more. And keep them out of reach of children.
