As we wrap up another fantastic academic year, what better way to finish than with last night's performance of Alice and the Jabberwocky.

It was a brilliant, funny and wonderfully witty production that showcased the incredible talent we have here at LSA. We are so proud of all of our cast and crew, who worked so hard to bring the show to life, and a huge thank you to Miss Howard and Mr Smith for all of the time and effort they put into making it such a success.

To our amazing students, staff, parents and the wider LSA community, thank you for your support throughout another memorable year. We have loved sharing so many of your achievements, successes and special moments.

Have a fantastic, well deserved summer break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in September. 🌞

Have a brilliant summer!

100km Complete! 🏃

Today, students from Artemis House came together to complete an incredible 100km Relay Challenge in support of The Little Princess Trust.

Throughout the day, students took turns on the treadmills, each contributing to the team's total before finally reaching the fantastic milestone of 100km. It was brilliant to see so many students getting involved, encouraging one another and showing great determination from start to finish.

A huge thank you to our Artemis House Leaders, Mr Long and Miss Torres, for organising today's challenge and keeping everyone motivated throughout. Well done to every student who took part and helped make the day such a success for a fantastic cause.

🧘 Year 8 Yoga Session 🧘

As part of their Religious Studies curriculum, our Year 8 students have been learning about Hinduism, including different forms of Hindu worship such as yoga.

To complement their learning, every Year 8 student took part in a yoga session on Tuesday, giving them the opportunity to experience the practice for themselves and explore why many people, whether for religious, spiritual or wellbeing reasons, choose to make yoga part of their daily lives. It was a great way to reflect on themes of mindfulness, self-awareness and finding moments of calm in an increasingly busy world.

The session was expertly led by our very own Mrs Salisbury, with students embracing every challenge and getting fully involved throughout. To our surprise, some of our teachers also proved to be very capable yogis!

A huge well done to all of our Year 8 students for their fantastic behaviour, enthusiasm and willingness to try something new.

Today, Mrs Dearden taught her final ever lesson at Lytham St Annes High School, surrounded by the last class she will ever teach before retiring this summer.

After an incredible 33 years at LSA, Mrs Dearden leaves behind an amazing legacy. As one of our longest serving members of teaching staff, we estimate that she has taught more than 12,000 students during her career. That is thousands of young people whose lives she has helped shape over more than three decades.

From everyone at LSA, thank you for your unwavering dedication, care and commitment to generations of students. We wish you a long, happy and well deserved retirement, Mrs D. You will be greatly missed by staff, students and the wider school community.

We know many of our followers were taught by Mrs Dearden and now have children of their own at LSA. If she was your teacher, or you'd simply like to wish her well, please leave a message in the comments. We know she would love to read them.

♟️ LSA Chess Championship 2026 ♟️

This year's LSA Chess Championship, kindly sponsored by the Lytham Rotary Club, brought together students from Years 7 to 10 for an afternoon of intense competition.

After an exciting two-and-a-half-hour knockout tournament, we crowned our new champion... Tabitha (Year 8)! 🏆

Congratulations also go to Kreed, who put in a fantastic performance to finish as this year's runner-up after reaching the final.

A huge congratulations to Tabitha for overcoming a strong field of competitors to take home this year's trophy.

It was great to welcome Richard from the Lytham Rotary Club, who once again came along to support the event and present the awards to our finalists.

Well done to every student who took part. The standard of play, resilience and sportsmanship on display throughout the tournament was fantastic. Congratulations again to Tabitha, our 2026 LSA Chess Champion, and well done to Kreed on a brilliant second-place finish!
