This is our recent project we have been working on in our Mechanics sessions. We used a Yamaha XJ600 motorcycle, and a ride on lawn mower. We cut the two machines down and married them to make a 600cc trike. The process involved lots of fabrication, and the final result is the product of everyone's hard work and input. Our young people seemed to really enjoy working on this. 🏍

Our young people have been working on creating a Tic-Tac-Toe game board. They have learnt different skills and used different tools to cut, sand and prepare the wood before finishing it off with a few coats of paint. They've made a fantastic job of these and we look forward to seeing what other projects they come up with next.

Congratulations to all of our young people who took part in our attendance competition last term.

The majority of our young people improved their attendance significantly.

Over a quarter of our young people achieved 100%. The young people that achieved 100% enjoyed an easter egg each and were placed into a draw for a £25 JD Sports voucher.

In raising their attendance they have also helped raise their progress and attainment.

Over the last week before Easter break, we had an Awareness Day on 'Racism'. We spoke about racial stereotypes and how Racism can effect anyone of any skin colour. Our young people engaged well in this and found it very interesting.

Team Motor Mechanics have been working on a hybrid project, of a ride on lawn mower and a motorbike. They have had to adjust many components so the engine lines up with the rear axle, and have given plenty of attention to detail to the petrol tank. Can't wait to see it operational.

Our Woodwork Team has been busy this term building benches, tables, planters and a lovely BBQ for the end of our academic year. The young people are definitely exploring their creative side with different projects.

To finish our last day of term with a bang, our Hair and Beauty Team made little cakes for everyone. Team Motor Mechanics and Woodwork were very grateful and they were polished off very quickly. We love how each team of young people look after the other.
