If there’s one character from literature you could meet, who would it be? I’m delighted to be returning to ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ with one of my GCSE students. I just love Atticus Finch and all his words of wisdom… phrases like ‘The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule, is a person’s conscience.’ Sheer gold!

All my GCSE students are getting to grips with Wordsworth’s Prelude so it was great to walk through Lancrigg on my way up Helm Crag. Apparently Wordsworth would dictate to his sister Dorothy here- I bet she added a few words of her own!
