Sports Day 2026 was an absolutely fantastic event and we all had an amazing time! After an uncertain week of weather, the sunshine came out for us and we were treated to a beautiful sunny day for all the fun and excitement.

Pupils from Year R to Year 6 took part in a range of events including the obstacle race, egg and spoon race, fancy dress race and sprints. Our Key Stage 2 pupils also challenged themselves in the long-distance race, completing an impressive 2.5 laps around the track.

It was a very close competition throughout the day, but congratulations go to St Matthew, who were victorious overall – very well done to them!

The parents’ race and teachers’ race were definite highlights of the day and brought lots of laughter and cheering from the crowd. It was also lovely to come together afterwards to enjoy a whole-school picnic in the sunshine.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support the children and help make the day such a success. We had a great day and created many wonderful memories together!

📆 Don't forget - if you are joining us in Year R this September, you are welcome to come to our weekly stay and play sessions starting this Friday from 2.15-3.00pm.

This week's theme is 'Rhyme Time' - Parents and children are invited to join a fun session led by our teachers. This will allow you and your child to explore language, number and rhyme through movement and music.

Please bring your ‘singing voices’ and ‘dancing shoes’! You will also receive a list of our ‘Top 10 Rhymes’ to enjoy at home before starting school.

We all enjoyed an excellent assembly from Year 2 today, as the children showcased all of their learning about the Great Fire of London!

Our pupils transported us back to London in 1666, confidently explaining how the fire began on Pudding Lane in the bakery of Thomas Farriner and explaining why the fire spread so quickly across the city. They shared fascinating facts about the crowded wooden houses, narrow streets, and windy conditions that helped the flames travel through London.

Thank you to all of the parents and families who joined us to support the children. We are so proud of Year 2 and all of their hard work!
