Yondr Pouches 📱

When students return next week, Priestlands will be issuing Yondr pouches for all students.

Phones will be safely locked away during the school day, helping to create a more focused, distraction-free learning environment while still allowing students to have their phones for the journey to and from school.

✉️ A message for the Class of 2026 from Mr Main 🎉

Well done, Year 11 — you did it! 🎓🙌

What an incredible morning celebrating with our Class of 2026. These are an excellent set of GCSE results, with so many fantastic individual achievements, and we couldn't be prouder of every single one of you.

This year's results include 108 Grade 9s, with 30% of all grades at 7–9 — a brilliant reflection of the hard work, determination and resilience you've shown throughout your time at Priestlands. 🌟

But today is about more than numbers. You've embraced school life, taken on new opportunities, supported one another and truly lived our motto: Learn more … Do more … Be more.

A huge thank you to our wonderful staff, parents and carers for the encouragement and support you've given our students every step of the way 🤝

Whatever comes next — sixth form, college, apprenticeships or employment — we wish you every success. Go and enjoy celebrating… you've earned it! 🥳

Results Day is Thursday 20 August! 🌟

📍 Results can be collected from school between 9.30–10.30am.

📱 If you can’t make it into school, results will be available from 11am via your DfE Education Record.

📚 And don’t forget to collect your pre-ordered Class of 2026 Yearbook too!

📢 WE ARE RECRUITING – JOIN THE PRIESTLANDS TEAM!

We have some exciting opportunities to join our dedicated team at Priestlands School, starting as soon as possible in the new academic year.

🏃 PE-based Cover Supervisor
An ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is passionate about sport. You’ll gain valuable experience within our PE team as well as in a general classroom environment. This could be a fantastic first step for anyone considering a career in teaching, or an opportunity for newly qualified teachers to gain classroom experience. Previous experience is helpful but not essential, with induction and training provided.

📚 Higher Level Teaching Assistant – SEND
A new role within our SEND team, supporting the development of our bespoke HUB area and helping to deliver a high-quality curriculum through small-group work and classroom support. We’re looking for someone creative, innovative and committed to helping students with SEND learn and succeed.

📖 Teaching Assistants – SEND
We are also looking for additional Teaching Assistants to join our SEND team. These term-time-only roles would suit a wide range of candidates – whether you’re looking to work around the school run, taking a gap year, or considering a career in teaching and keen to gain valuable classroom experience. Full training will be provided – finding the right people is our priority.

All three roles offer the opportunity to make a real difference to our students while becoming part of our supportive and friendly school community.

REMINDER: Free School Meals are changing from September 2026.

All families receiving Universal Credit may now be eligible for Free School Meals.
There will be two categories:
✅ Targeted Free School Meals
For families receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings of £7,400 or less.
✅ Expanded Free School Meals
For families receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings above £7,400.

🏅☀️ Our Sports Day was a huge success, with an incredible standard of competition, amazing determination from our students and several new school records being set! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏆

There were plenty of smiles and laughs too, with our House mascots joining in the fun and entertaining everyone! 🎉🐻

As another busy and successful school year comes to a close, we’d like to thank all of our students, staff, parents and carers for their support throughout the year.
