Lymington Little Dolphins is a friendly, pre-school that has been established since 1992. We promote a safe and happy atmosphere focusing on ‘Learning through Play’ developing their potential at their own pace offering a stimulating and nurturing environment. We enable each child to be confident, challenged and successful, gaining high self-esteem. We aim to maintai

n and keep providing high quality childcare, supporting a natural transition to full-time schooling. We are a registered early years provider (registered charity number 1024056) Offering places to all children aged 2yrs 9 months – to school age and predominately serve the town and surrounding areas. Nursery Education Grant funding is available for 3 to 4 year olds with the addition of 2 year old funding now available to any children meeting the government requirements. We are open Monday to Friday 8.30- 3pm, offering morning, lunchtime, afternoon and full day sessions. At Lymington Little Dolphins Pre-School we embrace the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Activities are planned around a theme on a termly, weekly and daily basis set by the EYFS – Please see the Latest newsletter


Outstanding Ofsted inspection (our latest inspection from 2016 is available on request. We are accredited with the Early Years Alliance (EYA) and work to high staff to child ratios. The Pre-School is run by a committee of parents who are elected annually at the AGM which is responsible for the finances and the overall management of the group. We hold regular meetings to make decisions about the current and future management of the setting. The Pre-School has much to offer parents and carers. Through committee work, fund-raising and rota days, new skills and confidence can be gained. It’s a chance to get to know others in the same situation and to develop a support network. Parents can share skills and interests with the children. Many lifelong friendships begin in the years when the children are at Pre-School together. Every summer we organise a summer outing which is open to siblings and parents. We also have a Christmas party for the children. (Some restrictions may apply, due to COVID 19 guidelines). Lymington Little Dolphins Pre-School annually reviews and updates policies and procedures. We also send questionnaires out to all our parents to measure the effectiveness of our service and look at ways to improve and update the environment, layout, equipment and resources available within the Pre-school.

We’re excited to announce our Easter Raffle with some egg-cellent prizes up for grabs! 🐰🎁

Little Dolphins Pre-School at the Christmas Fair!

We’re excited to be running a Hook-a-Duck stall at the Friends of School Christmas Fair on Friday 5th December, 3–5pm!

Come along and have a go, there’s a prize every time! 🎁✨All funds raised go straight back into supporting our wonderful pre-school.

We’re also looking for a few parent helpers to join us on the stall. If you can spare just 30 minutes to help run the game, hand out prizes, or set up/pack away, we’d be so grateful. 🙏

🌟 Exciting Improvements at Little Dolphins! 🌟

Over the past few weeks, we’ve:
- Installed a brand-new fence in the children’s main outdoor play area
- Replaced the patio with safer rubber play bark, giving our little ones a softer, safer space to explore
- Upgraded the fence and gate on the outdoor patio area by reception

These improvements make our outdoor spaces safer, more secure, and even more enjoyable for the children and we couldn’t have done it without your amazing support.

Every time you take part in one of our fundraising opportunities, it truly makes a difference.

And with that in mind… keep an eye out 👀 — we’ve got a fun Hook-a-Duck stall coming up at the Christmas Fair soon!

🌟 We Need You! Join Our Pre-School Committee 🌟

Did you know our pre-school can only run if we have a parent committee in place? As a registered charity, it’s a legal requirement – without a full committee, we cannot open.

✨ What is the committee?
The committee is made up of parents who work together with staff to make decisions about how the pre-school runs – everything from setting fees and staffing to organising fundraising and helping shape the future of the setting.

✨ Why is it important?
Quite simply, without at least 5 parent trustees, the pre-school would have to close. Being on the committee means you are helping to secure the future of the pre-school for your child and others.

✨ What are the roles?
• Chairperson
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• General Trustees (minimum of 2 needed)

You won’t be on your own – our amazing staff team attend meetings to offer advice and guidance.

✨ What’s involved?
• Meeting once every 6–8 weeks (currently online).
• Helping to make key decisions.
• Supporting fundraising to buy new resources, toys, and equipment for the children.

✨ Why should you join?
• Be part of shaping your child’s learning journey.
• Gain new skills and experiences.
• Make friends and have fun.
• Most importantly – keep our pre-school open and thriving!

👉 How to get involved:
To join, you’ll need to:
✔️ Complete a DBS and join the update service
✔️ Create a Government Gateway account
✔️ Complete an EY2 form
