We are incredibly proud of our amazing Year 6 children at St Michael’s Primary School, Lyme Regis, who completed their SATs last week with such resilience and determination.
To celebrate their hard work, commitment, and the kindness they’ve shown to one another throughout the year, we were delighted to present them with their leavers’ hoodies. A well-deserved milestone— well done, Year 6!

We were delighted to welcome Peter and Lynn into school today, who led our collective worship so beautifully.
They shared with us the value of kindness, encouraging everyone to think about the small, everyday actions that can make a big difference to others. Through the parable of the yeast, pupils reflected on how even the tiniest acts can grow into something powerful and meaningful within our school community.
Thank you, Peter and Lynn, for inspiring us all and helping us to continue building a culture of care, respect and kindness at St Michael’s.

Dear Members of our School Community,

I am delighted to share the exciting news that we have been successful in our application for funding to create a school based nursery.

This funding will enable us to make the necessary adaptations to the building and to develop the nursery provision fully, including the purchase of appropriate furniture, resources and equipment to create a high-quality early years learning environment.

Building works are scheduled to begin in early June and will also include the alterations to the front of the school, internal works within the KS1 area, and the creation of new outdoor decking and landscaped spaces. We anticipate the works to be completed over the summer holiday, in time for our return and the start of the Autumn term in September.

These improvements will support both the new nursery and the wider school environment, ensuring safe, welcoming and purposeful spaces for our children.

This is a significant and exciting development for St Michael’s and reflects our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding education and care from the very earliest stages. We are very much looking forward to the launch of the nursery and the opportunities it will bring for children, families and the local community.

We will continue to keep you updated as work progresses and share further information over the coming weeks.

Exciting times lie ahead, and I am really looking forward to this next chapter for our school.

Yours sincerely,

Nick Kiddle
Head Teacher

We were delighted to welcome the RNLI lifeguards into school this week! 🌊🏖️
The children learned how to stay safe at the beach, including understanding the flags, what to do in an emergency, and how to look after themselves and others near water. There was also lots of fun and practical activity, and we were really impressed with how much the children already knew and the thoughtful questions they asked. A huge thank you to the RNLI for such an informative and enjoyable visit!

🌟 Spirituality Day at St Michael’s 🌟
Today our whole school came together to explore what spirituality means to us as a community. Through symbols like the boat, church window, yellow path, cross, and our beautiful ammonite, children reflected on their journey, their values, and their big questions about the world.
A key message of the day was the reminder to “Do to others as you would have them do to you” — a simple but powerful guide that shapes how we treat one another with respect, kindness, honesty, trust, and compassion.
Pupils shared their hopes, dreams, moments of gratitude, and the people who help guide their path.
A day filled with curiosity, calm, reflection and growth.
We grow together, beautifully and uniquely. 💜✨
