**Holiday free school meal vouchers**

Message for parents, carers and families from Gloucestershire County Council.

Free School Meal Vouchers issued for school holiday periods is changing.

Free School Meal vouchers provided during school holidays, which have been funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) through the Household Support Fund, are coming to an end. This is because the Household Support Fund is ending, and Free School Meal Vouchers for the spring school holidays will be the last vouchers available under this scheme. A different fund, the Crisis and Resilience Fund is starting from Wednesday 1 April 2026.

We know food vouchers during school holidays have been important for many families and that’s why we’re working hard to ensure those who need support the most can still access it through the new Crisis and Resilience Fund and other support that we are putting in place across Gloucestershire.

A information letter will be sent out via email from Hayley (Family Support Worker) with relevant information for food support over the summer holidays.

Please do get in touch via the office if you do need to speak with Hayley and need further support.

The Severn Federation Academy Trust's swimming gala was a huge success today! 🥽🏊‍♂️

A huge thank you to Forest of Dean Swimming Club, who did an amazing job officiating the event, starting the races and recording the results throughout the afternoon.

Five of our schools took part in the gala, competing in a range of exciting races featuring a variety of swimming strokes. The atmosphere was fantastic, with pupils demonstrating great determination and team spirit.

I am incredibly proud of the way our 13 pupils supported one another, cheering the loudest and encouraging their teammates every step of the way.

Their hard work, enthusiasm and outstanding teamwork earned them an impressive 2nd place overall! 🥈

Well done, Swimming Gala Team; you were fantastic ambassadors for our school!

With the high temperatures set to continue into next week, pupils may continue to wear their PE kit to school to help keep cool and comfortable.

To avoid the hottest part of the day, we will be having earlier break times. Please ensure that your child comes to school wearing sun cream and a hat for extra protection.

We also ask that all pupils bring a refillable water bottle so they can stay hydrated throughout the day.

🌞 Thank You for a Fantastic Summer Fair! 🌞

We would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful Friends of School for organising such a fantastic Summer Fair. From the wide range of stalls and exciting rides to the delicious ice cream van and so much more, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Our Friends of School truly lived our school vision through their hard work, generosity and commitment. Events like these simply wouldn’t be possible without the many hours they dedicate behind the scenes, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do to support our school and create memorable experiences for our children.

Despite the very warm weather, it was fantastic to see so many families and members of our community come along to support the event. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated and helped make the afternoon such a success.

Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks again to Chris Farr and everyone at Bream Sports Club for hosting our Summer Fair. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and continued support of our school community.

Free Breakfast - over the summer holidays!!!

A huge thank you to Chris Farr and Bream Sports Club for generously allowing us to use their fantastic facilities for our Sports Day. We are especially grateful to Chris for taking the time to mark out all the lines for the activities, helping to make the day run so smoothly.

We would also like to extend our thanks to our Chair of Governors, Matt Creed, who helped with setting up and running the event.

We are incredibly proud of all our pupils, who showed wonderful effort, determination and enthusiasm throughout the day despite the very hot weather conditions. Plenty of water and ice pops helped everyone keep cool and make it through the morning!

Finally, thank you to all the parents and families who came along to support and encourage the children. Your support helped make the morning even more special.

Hot weather is forecast for next week, therefore pupils may come to school in their PE kit to help keep cool and comfortable. Please ensure that sun cream is applied before school, your child brings a hat, and they have a water bottle with plenty of water each day. Thank you for your support. ☀️💧🧢
