Such a lovely morning making a variety of preserves at Morris Family at Ty Poeth Farm thanks to Food4Torfaen making Strawberry Jam, Lemon Curd, courgette salsa and a spicy tomato salsa using their organic fruit and veg. We’d planned this for last Friday and postponed due to the wildfires. So good to see the skies have cleared, rain is in the air and a significant drop in temperature, good for us, the veg and the cattle too ###

So much fun creating allotment Tomato, Chilli and Courgette Chutney with today, creating chutneys our way and then a brilliant cheese tasting session with Usk Valley Cheese Company . So many skills and chats and friendships made and brilliant to catch up with people from our previous courses…..there were two Silver The Dalemain World Marmalade Awards winners in the room from our marmalade session in January!!!!! you are amazing!!!

Such a pleasure to join on Tuesday. The year 5’s have been working all year, planting, growing, nurturing their veg to create a feast for their families. Working with Bwyd Cynaliadwy Penybont / Sustainable Food Bridgend and Slade Farm Organics they made a Chickpea Tagine, coleslaw, pea and broad bean hummus, flatbreads, whipped feta and the most delicious beetroot brownies with instant frozen yoghurt. They made it all, created a menu and turned the hall into a beautiful restaurant to welcome their families. Such a privilege to be part of it AND even more excitingly came and interviewed the chefs, can’t wait to see them sharing their love of planting, growing and eating their food tonight ###
