Week commencing 28th September 2026

This week we will be beginning to look at Harvest Festival!
We will be talking about the different crops and what it is meant by 'Harvest'.

Planned activities will include:
Real vegetable role play in the kitchen
Introduction to Harvest and exploring different vegetables at circle time
Farm and tractor small world play
Vegetable printing with paint
Pumpkin and coloured rice sorting, pouring and measuring tuff tray
Autumn natural materials printing and transferring in playdough

Week commencing 14th September 2026

This week we will be learning about different birds!
We have found a birds nest when out on a walk so will be looking at this and talking about how birds make these during circle time.

Other planned activities will include:
Watching videos and reading stories to identify different types of birds
Autumn finger printing bird pictures
Autumn walks - bird watching
Making our own bird feed
Lemon and orange water play

Week commencing 7th September 2026,
This week we are looking at the story 'Were going on bear hunt'!
This ties in with our Autumn term and hibernation.

Planned activities include:
Reading the story 'Were going on a bear hunt'
Natural resources in the tuff tray with autumn animals
Bear themed tray with different materials to represent the weather
Autumn walks - leaf and stick collecting, whilst acting out the bear hunt
Free painting
Songs, number and letter recognition at circle times

Since starting the new Autumn term we have enjoyed some seasonal walks around the village. We have visited the church, been to look at the sheep and goats in the fields and have been blackberry picking! We took the berries to be washed and enjoyed them for snack! 😋

Over the summer holidays we have had a lot of fun….
Making a gingerbread man for the scarecrow Festival.
Going on walks.
Visiting the church.
Making bracelets.
Playing with slime.

We are looking forward to welcoming the new term 🍂
