🏠 The Scottish Government has published its Stage 2 consultation on the next revision to Scotland’s building regulations, with the proposed implementation date now moving to Autumn 2029.

The consultation includes proposals for stronger fabric performance, new compliance metrics, airtightness requirements and the future use of the Home Energy Model.

CIBSE has published 𝗧𝗠𝟱𝟵:𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, marking the first major update to the methodology since 2017.

As overheating becomes a growing consideration for homes, occupants and the wider housing sector, the updated methodology reflects the need to design homes that remain comfortable, healthy and resilient during warmer weather.

While questions remain around Part O adoption and implementation, assessors should continue to follow current regulatory requirements while familiarising themselves with the key updates introduced in TM59:2026.
