As we follow the recipe together 📖 children are developing early maths skills through measuring 🥣 literacy skills by recognising words and symbols, and important life skills like turn-taking and following instructions. A sweet way to learn 🍪

Today our children explored all 5 senses through a sensory cooking activity inspired by our story “What’s for Lunch?”🥪

They used sight, touch, smell and hearing as they created their own pretend lunches using the ingredients on the tuff tray. 🍋

We then continued the experience at snack time, where the children had the opportunity to taste and try different foods for real! 🍴

This hands-on learning supports their language development, fine motor skills, confidence in making choices and understanding of healthy foods 🥗

With this activity we support children’s creative development and fine motor skills by encouraging them to explore seasonal tree painting, using cotton buds for printing 🎨

Children make independent colour choices, experiment with mark-making techniques, and strengthen their finger control, essential for early writing ✏️

The activity also aims to promote language development as children talk about colours, seasons, and the changes they can see in the example pictures🌳
