Recently, members of the Cawleys team helped support a fantastic initiative implemented by one of our customer's, Bedford Hospital.

The aim of Waste Week was to engage and educate member's of the workforce, reinforcing their knowledge of the different and complex waste streams that are within a hospital.

This week some of the Cawleys team went for a guided visit to Rookery South, an Energy Recovery Facility, operated by Encyclis.

The facility, located in Bedfordshire aims to reduce landfill and generates enough baseload electricity to power 120,000 homes a year, recovering valuable resources and by-products for reuse.

The visit gave the team a fantastic insight into what happens to the waste collected by Cawleys and some brilliant information for us to pass on to customers.
