Thinking about this today. Mel Robbins research suggests that 50% of adults can’t look at themselves in the mirror and like the person looking back. The other 50% can look themselves in the mirror but still don’t approve of the person they see.
Now, obviously there will be exceptions. But the fact is the majority of us reject ourselves every single day, before we’ve even started our day.
This may not be much of a surprise to anyone, but when you consider that most people will take this perspective into the world every day, imagine all the ways this thinking will be showing up in our outer world (let alone our inner world).
To help you (and your world), do this one thing every morning for 5 days and see what happens:
When you wake up in the morning go and look in the mirror and high five yourself. No dialogue needed. Just do the action (even when there is resistance, which there probably will be).
