Hi there, I'm Jo, a qualified teacher with 32 years of classroom experience in UK primary schools.
I continue to teach part-time in school and so have the most up-to-date professional knowledge of the National Curriculum. I have taught every subject at primary level. In addition to teaching Key Stage 1 and 2, I also have worked with young people on the verge of social exclusion (11 - 16 years)
I hold a B.Ed (Hons) Degree in Education and also a Diploma in Youth and Community work.
I offer a choice of one to one tuition and small group tuition, both online, for as many or as few sessions as you require. I am willing to work with pupils who may have gaps in their learning or just need a boost to achieve their potential. Additionally some pupils may wish to have additional one to one tutoring alongside their normal school work.
All lessons will be via Zoom, Google meet or Google classroom - all you need is a free Google account. I can help set this up for your as part of our no-obligation introduction.​
I am happy to work with Home Educators and their children and as home educating families often have very individual requirements, I am happy to tailor the curriculum and topics to suit you.
I can also set homework if required, and offer regular constructive feedback to both parents and pupils to help move the learning forward so that the pupils reaches their full potential and makes progress.
As all tuition takes place online and at a time to suit you, your child stays in the comfort of your home where they are most relaxed and receptive to learning.
Learning is personalised. One to one and small group tuition lets me really get to know how your child learns and how best to interact with them, therefore accelerating their learning and boosting their confidence.
