📚 Year 6 Literacy in Action! 📝
This week, Year 6 have been diving deep into our WAGOLL, identifying the writer’s knowledge and carefully listing the features and facts they discovered. The children showed great insight into how authors use information and language to engage their readers.
To bring their learning to life, the class then stepped into the role of nature reporters! 🐾🎤 Using their research, they described a chosen animal as if they were reporting live on TV. From clear explanations to confident delivery, they did a fantastic job sharing facts with their ‘viewers’.
Well done, Year 6 – brilliant focus, creativity, and confidence on show! 🌟

In PSHE, we are exploring what makes us all different. We shared a thoughtful class discussion about differences such as eye colour, hair colour, families, languages, interests and hobbies, before choosing a friend to compare our similarities and differences.

Year 3 have been exploring measurement, with a focus on length and perimeter. We have been developing our understanding of centimetres and metres, and today the children put these skills into practice by measuring a variety of classroom objects using rulers.
To extend their learning, the children then converted their measurements from centimetres to millimetres 📏

Year 3 visited Kingshot School to take part in an exciting netball festival, where they competed in nine games. During the event, the children learned key netball rules such as correct defending distance, pivoting, and where to shoot from. All pupils took part enthusiastically, working together as a team while having fun and developing important netball fundamentals. The children were complimented on their behaviour and manners throughout the day. It was great to see the children working as a team in their groups making sure all players got involved.
