End of a chapter here for us and i'm atually crying 😢 12 years ago a super shy girl came for an apprentiship trial, she hardly spoke the whole time 😅 but she joined the team and very quickly found her confidence and became the very best childminding assistant I could have ever asked for 🩷 and all though I am super proud of her for going and doing something new I'm completly gutted that today was her last day with us 😭

Because our Danielle is so much more than a childminding assistant, working in our home, she has become a super important person in our lives, my bigger children were only four, five and six when she started and she has been here longer than the little three! 🥰

Staff come and go but Danielle has become like family so it's going to be very odd next week without her here 🥹

We are getting a lot of enquiries at the moment, which is both really lovely but also a bit of an admin nightmare!

I have spent the last few hours checking all the emails, whatsapp, texts, insta messages ect and I think I have now replied to everyone who has messaged me this year so if you are still waiting on a reply please nudge me again 🌼

A few little snippets of our childminding week, planting some spring flowers, baking cookies, feeding the birds, baking bread, sorting out our tiny veg patch and pumpkin soup which was made with the pumpkin we grew in the garden last year!

Not pictured are the stories we have read together, the living room yoga, the outdoor play, the potty training, the Lego builds, the pictures we drew, the songs we have sung or the 1000s of other little moments of learning that happen here every day.

Really unusally, due to a couple of little ones moving, we have some childcare spaces available!

We are open, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
We charge £7 per hour
We accept almost all types funding

🌟 Childminding week 🌟

A week to support and recognise the work that us childminders do, to help recognise that childminders are such an important part of the childcare sector and to raise awareness that we are

For this Coram PACEY is encouraging childminders to show the things we do as childminders that go unnoticed or that people may not be aware of, so here is a quick snapshot of what many an evening or weekend will look like for me, catching up on paperwork, writing or reviewing policies, updating the website, keeping our social media upto date, attending online training events, doing invoices, the dreaded tax returns, uploading observations, writing newsletters, filling out funding applications, completing summative assesment checks, reviewing risk assesments, replying to enquiries...the list goes on!

I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it, but one thing is for sure a childminder needs to wear many hats 🎩🎓👒

A love of reading 📚

This week we are helping ☀️📚Ludlow Book Hunt📚☀️ hide story books all around our local area. If children find them, they can keep the book to enjoy or re-hide for someone else to find.

We love being involved with this as creating a love of reading is so important as it can, of course boost language skills but also build imagination and creativity, help understand feelings, emotions and guide us through tricky concepts, it can support academic success, strenghting focus and patience, create bonding opportunities and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Last week, this sweet cat kept coming in our garden, then over the weekend we discovered why....3 tiny kittens tucked up behind our little playhouse 💚

As much as we fell in love with them, they couldn't stay with us and we know that mum cat does not belong to anyone but luckily, my amazing sister volunteers for a cat charity, and so they have safely been moved with mumma cat to be well looked after until they are bigger
