Following the cancellation of GCSE and A Level exams, I am currently offering online English tuition sessions to local students whose parents may wish for them to benefit from some input from a qualified, experienced teacher over the coming weeks and months. Following the news of the GCSE exams being cancelled, many of my Year 11 students have chosen not to continue with their English tuition, which I understand. However, I would say that everyone should be cautious of completely halting work and revision. I say this because of the option the government are offering to take the exam early in the next academic year. Lots of my students were disappointed with mock results and have progressed a great deal since they sat them. The grade being awarded this summer will be based on those results (along with other data) and students will have the opportunity to have another go at achieving a higher grade if they are unhappy with what they get.
