Norfolk Maths Tutor

Norfolk Maths Tutor I specialise in helping students who have become 'left behind' with their maths. Students are presenting with issues that I've never previously seen.

I urge parents to arrange tutoring early in year 10.

One of the students I'm currently tutoring is studying for the AQA Further Maths GCSE. She is enjoying the course and is making excellent progress. If you have a son or daughter who is needing a boost in their maths, don't hesitate to get help while there's still time.

Pleased to say that my predicted grades for the two students who took their GCSE exams this year were accurate. I start again with two year 11 students from 10th September. This gives us about 34 weeks to get the job done. I am still seeing students whose maths education has been adversely affected by the pandemic.
Since 2012 I have helped a total of 79 students through their GCSE maths exams. Message me here or call me on 01692 678131 for more details.

For those viewing my page, take note that many students have huge gaps in their maths education due to Covid disruption. I think grades 6,7 and 8 will be less common achievements for some years to come. Students might have to settle for grades 4 and 5, acquired via the Foundation Tier. Schools are putting too many students through the Higher Tier who cannot cope with the more complex maths. If you are committed to the Higher Tier route, do not leave it too late to ask for help.

Best of luck to Alfie, Ben, Connor and Joel sitting the first of three exam papers today. Let's hope they get a tiny bit of help from the exam board to help them over the line.

Massive congratulations to student Rebecca for passing her Functional Skills Level 2 maths. We achieved this with fortnightly lessons beginning 16th July last year. Rebecca funded the cost herself from her meagre apprenticeship earnings. For me it was a first time to get involved in the Functional Skills program. We were somewhat hampered by lack of available resources and some very 'iffy' mark schemes. On the positive side I reckon the standard of the questions was as high, or higher, than GCSE maths. I'm so proud of Rebecca for her persistence and determination. It will make a huge impact on her self confidence.
