Uplands Pre-School is an inclusive pre-school for two to five year olds and has been established for 20+ years. Current staff have been together for ten years and the pre-school is well known for its friendly atmosphere. lls to bring to the setting and are passionate about the pre-school, working together to create a friendly and happy atmosphere. Our staff are qualified, experienced positive role models and provide positive interaction and engagement with children. The group provides an appropriate environment, inside and out, we ensure the environment is safe and secure and that the premises are suitable for children with disabilities and reflect the ethnic, cultural and social diversity of the children attending. Uplands pre-school focuses on parents being central to the well-being of their children. We aim to make the pre-school a welcoming place where children settle quickly and easily because consideration has been given to the individual needs of children and their families. The pre-school has a key person system, they will be the person who works with you to make sure that what the pre-school provides is right for your child's particular needs and interests. We provide a carefully planned program of themes/topics throughout the year to ensure that the children are given a wide range of active real life and everyday experiences to enhance their learning about the world. The setting opens from Monday to Friday during school term times, morning sessions are from 8.45am to 11.45am, and afternoon sessions are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12.45pm until 3.45pm. Additionally we offer a breakfast club from 08:15- 08:45 and a lunch club from 11:45-12:45. The setting serves the local area and supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and children who speak English as an additional language. The setting has a Local Authority Quality Assurance Award and was also rated OUTSTANDING in all areas by Ofsted quoting "the quality of the provision is outstanding, children are supported by a highly motivated and caring team who have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and provide varied and interesting activities that help children make significant gains in their learning. Staff significantly enhance the development and welfare of children. Parents reported that they are extremely happy with the setting and could not wish for a better start for their children. The environment is stimulating and welcoming and includes high quality toys, furniture and equipment that help to ensure the setting is conducive to learning. A highly effective, cyclical system of observation, assessment and planning is implemented to help children make significant gains in their learning.
