As this school year draws to a close what an amazing year it has been! Hope you all have an amazing Summer making memories with your children and famlies and we will see you in September. The children return to school on Thursday 3rd September with the 1st and 2nd being teacher training days.

What a fantastic year of sport at Carlton Colville Primary! From gymnastics and swimming to football and mud runs, our pupils have shown incredible determination and enthusiasm. What a fabulous few weeks the Nursery children have had exploring and enjoying new activities and experiences. So much to fit in and consolidate our whole Nursery learning journey together as the year comes to an end.
We had the fabulous circus opportunity to practise our skills while having great fun. I think we nailed plate spinning, juggling and tightrope walking quite successfully. Well done everyone! In amongst our busy day we managed to fit in building the 'Great Wall of China', well actually the Great Wall of Carlton Colville Nursery, but hey the children loved seeing how far we could build it across the whole nursery and outside too.
We couldn't finish the year without doing our final 'Reading Cafe.' A comical story called Elephant Pants ๐Ÿ˜ as of course we had to finish on an Elephant story because, 'We are the Elephants, we are the best!'
We've had an amazing year together and we have had so much fun. Thank you to all our fabulous parents/carers for their wonderful support this year as it has been so appreciated.

The Reception children loved our teddy bears picnic. They enjoyed pizza,crisps,raisins and biscuits outside with their cuddly toys. The children then enjoyed showing their cuddly toys around our outside area.

Last week, a group of Year 5 children were selected to take part in a Maths event at EPA. The children were brilliant, working well together to solve a myriad of questions. We competed against one other school who did win by 1 point! Well done, Year 5. They showed great teamwork, curiosity, courage, resilience and reflection. They should feel very proud of themselves.

We are now a Gold award Hedgehog Friendly School. A massive thanks to all of the staff and children who have worked so hard to acheive this amazing award. We know lots of families got behind this too! Special thanks to Mrs Terry-Wright and Mrs Gray for working very hard behind the scenes to make this happen and of course thanks from all of the Hedgehogs who don't have a voice but are no doubt grateful for our efforts.
