💀📚 Story Club: Funnybones! 🎃
This week in Story Club, we shared the spooktacular story Funnybones by Janet and Allan Ahlberg! The children loved meeting the spooky skeleton characters and joining in with the fun, catchy rhymes. 👻
Inspired by the story, the children then got creative with our craft activity, making their very own skeletons using cotton buds! They had lots of fun arranging the bones and bringing their spooky creations to life. 🦴✨
A fang-tastic session full of stories, creativity and Halloween fun! 🧡🖤

🎨 Year 2’s Colourful Collage Creations! 🐾
Over this half term, Year 2 have been exploring the art of collage, taking inspiration from the work of African-American artist Romare Bearden.
Making links to their science learning about animals and their habitats, the children each chose an animal to bring to life through collage. They began by sketching the outline of their chosen animal before layering and combining different materials to create their artwork. To finish, they added finer details and finishing touches using paint and crayons. 🖍️🖌️
The results are a wonderful collection of colourful, creative and unique animal collages! The children have worked so hard and are incredibly proud of their finished pieces. Well done, Year 2! 🌟

EYFS learnt about the famous artist Arcimboldo this week. He painted portraits using fruit and vegetables. We enjoyed exploring his art work, spotting what we could see in the pictures. We then used real fruit and vegetables to create our own portraits and we think they're fantastic. Well done children 👏🏼🫛🍅🥦🧅.

🪥🔬 Year 4 have been putting their science skills to the test!
They used fair testing to investigate which type of toothbrush is best for cleaning our teeth. Along the way, they learned how to carry out a fair test, identify anomalies, and accurately record and analyse their data.
Our investigation found that soft-bristled toothbrushes were the best choice. We also discussed how hard bristles can be too abrasive and may damage the enamel on our teeth.
A fantastic investigation full of scientific thinking, careful observations and some very important learning about looking after our teeth! 🦷✨

EYFS enjoyed celebrating Lincolnshire Day this week. We know that we go to school in Louth and Louth is in the county of Lincolnshire. We know that Lincoln is the capital city of Lincolnshire, and that it has a big cathedral. We talked about things that Lincolnshire is famous for, particularly farming and Lincolnshire sausages! The children worked together to collage a Lincolnshire flag, and some children even made Lincoln cathedral in the construction area. We enjoyed a tasty Lincolnshire buffet - Lincolnshire sausage, Lincolnshire poacher cheese, haslet and plum bread. Yum yum!
