Utterby Primary Academy is a small rural village school and we pride ourselves in being a very hardworking and caring academy.

We are situated just off the A16 half way between Louth and Grimsby. Utterby Primary Academy is in a hard federation with North Thoresby Primary Academy. The academies are about five minutes apart and the children from both enjoy getting together and sharing their learning with each other!

What a great day the Owls have had at the Streetlife Museum in Hull

What a fantastic trip today! The Owlets joined forces with the Squirrel Class for a wonderful adventure 🚜 🎃
Together, the children pushed their wheelbarrows through the field. They had so much fun exploring the field, spotting pumpkins in all different shapes, sizes and colours before choosing the perfect pumpkin to take home!
Back in the classroom, we put our observational skills to work, creating careful drawings and paintings, inspired by our harvest finds. 🎃

🎃 Falcons have been getting into the spooky season with some pumpkin carving this afternoon.

Their pumpkins, along with those created by other classes at Lift Utterby, will soon be on display at Utterby Church. We cant wait for you to see them!! 🎃🍁

'Owlets Phonics Fun'
This week in phonics, the children have been learning our new sounds l, h,r and j. Alongside learning these new sounds, they have been developing their skills in blending and reading words. The children have enjoyed a range of fun and engaging activities to support their learning. It was wonderful to see them continuing to practise their phonics skills in our enhanced provision. Some children have even challenged themselves to write their words. We are so proud of their hard work and the progress they are making! 😊

💃 Falcons have finished their dance lessons for this half term by recreating how some of the monsters from Beowulf (the story they have been reading in English) might move! 👹 They showed fantastic creativity and enthusiasm. We then played our own game of catch the monsters!!! Well done, Falcons! 🌟

Our Owlets have been having so much fun with our Funky Finger activities! 🦉🖐
They've been working hard developing their fine motor skills, building dexterity and strengthening their little hands through twisting, pinching....
All that hard work is paying off - they've completely wowed us with their fabulous letter formation. 🦉😊

The Owlets have been busy exploring numbers up to 10! 🦉💫
From ordering numbers 1-10 and creating their own number lines to matching numerals with natural treasures like pumpkin seeds, conkers, fir cones ... 🍂
They also had great fun rolling a dice, recognising the dots and doing the matching number of movements - jumping, star jumps, hopping ...
They've shown fantastic early maths skills 😊
