End of an era ❤️ this summer has seen us say goodbye to the final few of my ORIGINAL Little Explorers, (plus another superstar who feels like an OG), and it’s got me all emotional. As much as I and Little Explorers have been a big part of the children’s early years, they have been a huge part of my world and Payton’s, they’ve shaped our setting, my whole experience as a childminder and they’ve taught me so many things! I’m so excited for them all to thrive throughout the next part of their next journeys, but my goodness this place is not going to be the same.

So I’m quitting.

Ha.. just kidding.

But I do want to say a HUUUUGE thank you to all of my Little Explorers and their families, past and present, because I couldn’t do it without you and these four years have truly been a blessing 🙏🏼

Rocking and rolling 🤘

Constructing our very own mud kitchen DRUM KIT to explore the different tones we could make and put our pans to alternative uses, followed by rolling down the hills on our morning walk.

We practiced copying rhythms, playing loud, quiet, slow and fast and even sung our favourite songs to our beat. Little legs combatted rocky terrain and hills on our walk, promoting the development of strength, gross motor and balancing skills. Meanwhile, we were collecting rocks for a fun craft, whereby we each gathered our own collection of rocks in our small bags (so we didn’t accumulate thousands) and we discussed how certain rocks might look like our face or ‘daddy’s strong muscles’, identifying their colours, size, shape and texture. Then we had lots of fun (as always) running up and rolling down hills, working out our full bodies, keeping our bodies active and strong whilst counting, racing and belly laughing in the fresh air 🌞

It’s so easy to learn when you’re having fun.

Ps, sorry neighbours- the ‘loud’ was quite loud 😂

Old friends and NEW friends who have all settled in unbelievably well ❤️ an absolute credit to the older children who have taken the younger and newer children under their wings 🥹❤️ and a credit also to the newbies who have adjusted to their early years journeys with us, so effortlessly. Don’t mind me, I’ve just looked through 2.5 months worth of photos and I’m a bit emoshe. It’s been very busy, but so wonderful 🫶🏼
