It seems that I have entirely neglected our social media pages, so now I am going to share some of our lovely year that we’ve had so far.
So here is Valentines Day (1 month on..🫣)! We created our very own family tree, just like Stickman’s! We cut or tore our chosen paper, glued down our strips to create collage tree trunks, used our painted hands to create leaves and carefully printed love hearts using celery as a stamp. Then I popped in a little family photo, for each of the children. I really love how these turned out, and so did the children! They thought opening the little flap on the family tree to find a photo of their family was very entertaining ❤️ whilst we all enjoyed the final product, of course the process of the creation is more important, which is why we did lots of varied steps, with different resources and skills, over several sessions to create our keepsakes.
Also: play dough. Because it’s the secret to tidying up huge painted messes, whilst keeping the children engaged and all in one space 😆 but also because they do love it, it’s fabulous for all aspects of development and I thoroughly enjoy seeing the children’s portraits of their parents, amongst so many other creations.
