Summer Vibes Art Day arrived and was received with such energy and enthusiasm!

From tie dying t shirts, festival headbands, mixed media ice creams, water colour and wax art summer scenes, under the water pastels, 3d turtles and
the art of quilling. A wonderful day from each and everyone. Proving that every child is an artist!

Acorn class have been learning about maps, we loved exploring Cubetto; giving directions and watching it move from a start point to a finish point. We programmed it to make turns and go forward. Well done!

This week in Silver Birch carrying on with their Grand Canyon unit they explored tourism. They discussed the different pros and cons that tourism has on the locals, tourists and environment. They then looked at the different tourist activities that are available at the Grand Canyon and then researched these; creating an advertisement leaflet with this information.

In Forest School this week after finding the tennis ball we made our very own stick people. Once everyone found their perfect stick they hammered it together to make arms and a head. Well done everyone.

Some children went on a lovely trip to ELHAP an accessible playground in Woodford Bridge. They had the chance to explore, play and use their imaginations while having lot's of fun.

Acorn class enjoyed a slow walk up to the church and then had our snack before we went into the church to explore! We learnt all about the organ and how it works and then we played the church bells! We finished off creating a paper dove craft and celebrated the baptism of Barnaby Bear.

Thank you for having us!

Willow Class tried to keep cool this week with swimming and ice poles. We swapped our usual swimming lesson for a fun swim session with all sorts of balls and floats and had a splashingly good time!

In Forest School this week after finding the tennis ball we made our own natural weaves. One pupil even crocheted their own bow to add to it.

Even through the heat, we made the best of our beautiful school. During playtime the Forest School area was opened and pupils enjoyed using their imagination, creating and having fun together in the shade.

Acorn Class travelled back in time and loved finding out what life was like in Victorian times. We especially enjoyed finding out about the toys children played with!

This half term, Willow Class are learning all about designing and making puppets in Design Technology. To prepare for making their puppets, this week the children have been learning to sew. Great job Willow Class.

In Silver Birch in Science, they created static electricity using balloons.

In Forest School this week, after finding the tennis balls, we made bug hotels. They planned their ideas and used their imaginations to work out what the bugs would like. One pupil made a slide while others made it more homely.

The High Beech choir performed at the trust summer concert held at Buckhurst Hill Community Primary School on Thursday. We sang a number of songs along with the other four schools that attended and also sang our own song. 🎶

Acorn Class enjoyed a visit from Mr Furness who told us all about his bees.

Oak class enjoyed some outdoor fun on their trip to Gilwell Park on Tuesday. They participated in Crate stacking, Firelighting and Oricle building.

Silver Birch had a fantastic residential. Photos to follow.

In Forest School this week, we worked on our team-building skills. We got across from one end to another by only standing on a plank, got the ball from one end of the pipe to the other without it dropping, and undid knots. Some children also used twigs to spell their names and did some leaf printing too.
