If you’re lucky enough to receive a Valentine’s rose this year, you might be wondering why it looks a little dead.

It’s not you, it’s your home! Roses generally will only grow healthily when kept outside, so try planting them into the ground, or into a larger pot to flourish this summer! 🌹

2nd part of the Spider Plant Dormancy care guide. This here is a spider plant that lost ALL of its leaves, making it just a gaggle of stumps in the soil.

But, a warmer, brighter windowsill enabled it to burst into life like a spring bulb. It’ll hopefully continue to grow and will eventually become a mature, bushier specimen in my collection.

ROOT ROT CHECKLIST:

You have root rot if your plant:
•is curling/wilting, even though it’s been kept in moist soil for more than three days.
•has soil that soil smells ‘earthy’ and is damp and clumpy.
•has brown, stunted new growth/leaves

Root rot is most common with houseplants kept more than 2m/6ft from a window due to the lower light that causes less photosynthesis. It can also happen very often when plants are grown in room temps below 18°C/64°F.
