The reading challenge is well underway, and it has been wonderful to see so many children engaging with reading at home again.
Regular reading at home makes a real
difference to children’s progress in school.

Children who read regularly tend to develop stronger vocabulary, comprehension and overall reading skills.
The Foxes are very much in the lead at the moment and are looking forward to snuggling up with a hot chocolate and a good book!
Remember, all classes will receive their reward once they reach 100 ticks.

Keeeeep reading! 💃 📕

We’re really pleased to have received a collection of new dyslexia-friendly books for our Key Stage 2 children.

These books have been specially designed to make reading more comfortable and accessible for children who may find traditional books more difficult to read.

They can include features such as: • cream or off-white paper, which can be easier on the eyes.
• clear, easy-to-read fonts and spacing
• shorter lines and carefully laid-out text to make it easier to follow

• less crowded pages and clear chapter layouts • features designed to reduce visual stress and make reading feel more manageable.

The books are available across Key Stage 2, and teachers will choose and provide them to children where they feel they may be helpful. We hope these books will help more of our children enjoy reading, feel confident with books and find reading a more comfortable experience.
