Loughborough Church of England Primary School

Following our earlier post, we are very sorry to inform you that we have now had to make the difficult decision to close the school today.
This decision has not been made based on the conditions in and around school, but on the significant impact the weather has had in the North West Leicestershire area, where many of our staff live. Driving conditions mean it is unsafe for staff to travel, meaning we are unable to maintain safe staffing levels within school.
Class teachers will be sending out emails shortly with remote learning tasks for the day.
We sincerely apologise for the change in plan, especially after this morning’s earlier communication. This decision has been taken with careful thought, and the safety of our pupils and staff must remain paramount.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

Due to the weather conditions this morning, we will be operating a delayed start. School will be opening at 10am to allow staff and pupils time to travel safely. Please send children with appropriate, warm clothing so that we can enjoy the snow during the day. See you all at 10am

Our wreath, lovingly created by the children, even made it onto ITV News Central – what an incredible moment!
A huge thank you to Miss Wing, Miss Woodier, and Miss Mitchell for guiding the children and helping them create such a special tribute to honour those we came together to remember.

Today, the whole school comes together at Queen’s Park for a special Remembrance Service. We will lay a wreath lovingly created by all of our children, as a heartfelt tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today. Let us remember them with gratitude and respect. 🌺

This Monday, we’ll be kicking off Anti-Bullying Week at Loughborough C of E by wearing odd socks to school!
Odd Socks Day is all about celebrating what makes us unique and spreading the message that it’s okay to be different.
