L is only 9 years old and has recently finished primary Year 4 in school, he works consistently above his age group and competed the GCSE Key Stage 4 maths Masterclass, he worked brilliantly!

When the Masterclass finished Mum said, "He loved it and has been asking for weekly maths tuition!"

I am delighted to welcome new tutor Tara to the Stepping Stone Maths family 😍

Tara is a second year Ph.D. research student at Loughborough University, has a First Class Honours in her degree and Masters from King’s College London, and has a passion for teaching and mathematics.
Outside of university she enjoys going to the gym, running, hiking, trying new sports and going to the theatre and concerts with friends and family.

I have personally watched Tara teach and she is friendly, personable, engaging, brings fun to the sessions and is very reassuring. Tara already has some tutees booked in to start private maths sessions with her and her gaps will not last long.

🌈 Supporting Our Community 🌈

I am so pleased to announce that for every new tutee who joins Stepping Stone Maths, a donation will be made to the incredible local charity, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People

This is our fifth donation. I recently had the privilege of visiting Rainbows and was shown around by the lovely Gary. I was truly inspired by the warmth, compassion, and dedication of the entire team—and so impressed by their amazing facilities. They offer such comfort and care to families during the most difficult times.

Our very own tutor Becca also volunteered with Rainbows for a year, and speaks just as highly of the amazing work they do.

We're proud to play a small part in supporting their mission.

We support life-threatened and life-limited babies, children and young people (from birth to 18 years old), along with their families, helping them make the most of every precious moment, while capturing memories and keepsakes to treasure.

We’re here for the whole family at the Hospice (based in Loughborough), at a family’s home or in hospital, offering comfort and compassion during tough times, providing the highest level of professional care until the end, and support after.

Our care costs for this financial year will be £9 million and only around 15% of our overall costs are funded by the Government.
Simply put, we’re here to brighten short lives, and support families, wherever they are.

The Women's Awards have officially shortlisted our founder, Nicola Colman, for the Outstanding Female Entrepreneur award. This recognition means a lot to us. It celebrates individuals who have built and run their own successful businesses for over three years.

Nicola founded Stepping Stone Maths 6.5 years ago, and we are truly grateful to the independent judging panel for this honour.

Most importantly, Nicola wants to thank YOU—our incredible families, tutees and tutors who work alongside us. We could never have reached this milestone without your trust and belief in what we do. This achievement belongs to all of us!
