Ever wondered what makes a really good Wellbeing Ambassador? 🎥
It's not just about being a kind, friendly face (though that helps!).
It's a genuine set of skills - and in this short video, Liz breaks them all down.
Listening properly.
Empowering rather than directing.
Supporting a friend without carrying their worries for them.
These are skills young people can learn, use and grow.
Pop the kettle on and give it a watch - it's a brilliant introduction to why peer support works when it's done properly.

"Early intervention" gets said a lot. But what does it actually look like day to day? 🤔
With the new Ofsted framework and the inclusion strategy duty, schools are being asked to support young people early - before things escalate, and without waiting for a formal diagnosis.
That's easier said than done, so we've made a free guide to help: Targeted Support and Early Intervention in Schools. It's practical, clear, and walks you through what good early, targeted support really involves.
Perfect summer reading for anyone planning their provision for September - and it links neatly to what your inclusion strategy needs to say.

Inclusion bases are having a real moment - there's new DfE guidance and funding to help schools set them up. 👏
But here's the thing we keep coming back to: an inclusion base isn't really about the room. It's about what happens in it.
The magic ingredient is coaching.
When the adults - and even trained student coaches - working in that space really listen, help young people understand themselves, and build their skills rather than doing everything for them, an inclusion base becomes a place young people grow. Not just a place they go.
Liz has written a blog on exactly how to make that work, with trained student coaches as part of the picture.
Give it a read if inclusion bases are on your radar for the year ahead.

We had the loveliest message and we had to share it. 💚
The Deputy Head (Pastoral) at St. Lawrence College - the British School in Greece - wrote to tell us what their Wellbeing Ambassadors have been up to.
Two years in, they now have 54 trained ambassadors across Years 10 to 13, working in three teams on equality and diversity, anxiety and stress, and relationships.
The list of what these young people have done is genuinely amazing: walk-and-talk sessions at break, a full Mental Health Week, a board games club for anyone feeling lonely, a whole-school culture week, tolerance pledges in every room, and pairing up with every new Year 7 to help them settle in.
Their words: "We have been in awe of the change our pupils have managed to bring about."
This is what happens when you give young people the skills and the trust to support each other. Proud isn't a big enough word.

Here's one for school leaders to file away for September: the inclusion strategy deadline.
Every mainstream primary and secondary school in England now has to publish an inclusion strategy on its website by 31 December 2026.
It's part of the Inclusive Mainstream Fund and it's a must-do, not a nice-to-have.
In plain terms, your strategy needs to say: here are the barriers our pupils face, here's what we're doing about them, here's what it costs and here's the difference we expect it to make. And it has to be updated every year, with Ofsted looking at how well it's actually working.
The reassuring bit: things like coaching, belonging and peer support fit right into the government's seven principles of inclusion. If you're already doing this work, you're already building your strategy.
Not sure where to start? Take a look at Liz's blog - and message us if you'd like to know more.

Ofsted has changed - and if the new framework is still on your "I'll get to it" list, the summer is a good moment to catch up.
The big headline: there's no single overall grade any more.
Schools now get a report card scored across several areas.
And here's what stands out for anyone in wellbeing and pastoral work.
Inclusion is now its own inspection area AND it runs through everything else. Alongside it sits personal development and wellbeing. Inspectors want to see how well you support your most vulnerable pupils - for real, not on paper.
The good news?
If you've invested in coaching, belonging and peer support, you're already building exactly what they're looking for.
Want to understand how it all connects? Have a read - and drop any questions below.

Happy summer holidays! 🌞
Before you fully switch off (and please do switch off), we wanted to leave you with something useful for whenever you're ready.
Resilience gets talked about a lot, but it's often misunderstood. It isn't about being tough or "just getting on with it". It's a set of skills young people can genuinely learn - and that the adults around them can teach.
We've got free resilience resources on our site: practical, research-based and written for real people working with real young people.
No jargon, no cost.
Have a browse when you fancy it, and tag someone who'd find it handy for September.

Is your school making the most of its Inclusive Mainstream Fund allocation?
The IMF is there to build proactive structured wellbeing and inclusion provision.
Not one-off workshops.
Not reactive interventions.
Sustainable programmes that build capacity over time.
That's exactly what Ofsted wants to see from September.
And it’s exactly what Worth-it programmes were devised to deliver.
If you’re planning your wellbeing strategy for next year, we can help you make it count.
