A new study argues that banks could achieve many of the promised benefits of digital money without adopting complex a new technology known as tokenized deposits.

The paper, by Professor Alistair Milne, Tokenized deposits: Old wine in new bottles?, argues that tokenized bank deposits (money in your bank account represented as a digital token) have been hailed as the future of finance despite offering surprisingly little that banks cannot already do using existing technology.

Two graduates have come together to lead a unique collaboration between their respective family businesses, Phoenox Textiles (manufacturer of the Hug Rug) and Graham & Brown.

Ellie Mosley and Iona Graham first met while studying at Loughborough.

Together, they have collaborated on a new rug collection that combines Graham & Brown's distinctive in-house designs with Hug Rug's British-made flooring expertise. ๐Ÿ‘

Persistently high electricity prices could discourage British businesses from switching away from gas, potentially slowing the UKโ€™s progress towards net zero, according to new research.

The study, involving researchers from Loughborough University and Nottingham Trent University, examined how different UK industrial sectors changed their gas and electricity consumption in response to shifting energy costs and levels of economic activity between 1990 and 2020.

A couple of weeks ago, a group of Faraday Hall alumni who were freshers between 1994 and 2000, returned to campus in July for a special reunion weekend.

The event brought together 60 alumni to catch up, reminisce and revisit some familiar student haunts. ๐Ÿ˜
