Charnwood College provides an excellent all-through education for students aged 11-19 across Loughborough. It was officially launched in Summer 2012 by bringing together the former Burleigh Community College and Garendon High School to create one college providing seamless education. It was the first time two schools had come together in Leicestershire. Charnwood College has a clear set of values,

A-level Exam Pass Rate Improves
Charnwood College celebrate the school’s continuing trend for improving standards, with more than 70% of entries achieving a C grade or better.
A total of 128 students from Charnwood College sat their A-level exams this summer with 26 (20%) of them getting at least 1 A*- A result.
Top performing students from Charnwood College in this year’s A-level exams include Nitika Gupta who achieved 2 A*s plus 2 A’s; Christopher Musson with 2 A*s plus 1 A and 1 B; Kate Shaw with 1 A* plus 3 A’s, Rosie Trigg with 1 A*, plus 2 A’s and 1 B and also Michael Podgorney with 4 A’s.
Other students who gained at least three As or A*s were Anand Sharman, Shebiba Aziz, Laura Barke, Rachael Mott and Alice Mete.
Mark Sutton, Charnwood College Principal, said: “I am delighted that for the second year running our results have shown an improvement and I want to congratulate all the successful students who have been rewarded for their hard work.”
