LMCC joins the world of social media! Thank you to everyone who has liked our page.

Over the last few years there has been a significant amount of change and investment in LMCC. The centre has undergone a major refurbishment to modernise the laboratories, in addition to this we have been successful in obtaining funding for a Plasma Focused Ion Beam (PFIB).

The aim of this page is to keep in touch with students throughout their careers as characterisation technology is advancing at an alarming rate. We will post application notes and advertise internal/external events that the centre is running.

LMCC hosts a new short course in Electron Microscopy.

An exciting development in response to many requests from industry, this course will deliver a broad understanding of different electron microscopy techniques and how they can be applied to identify and solve industrial material and manufacturing challenges.

This is an intensive course run over three days, consisting of lectures, case studies from industry and a significant amount (approx.50%) of hands-on practical sessions.
