The adventure continued with visits to the impressive City God Pavilion and the world-famous West Lake, before exploring the vibrant Hefang Street for local food and souvenirs.

China Trip Update β Days 1β5 π²
Our Year 9 Mandarin students have had an incredible start to their China adventure in Hangzhou!
After arriving safely, students described their first impressions as "different, exciting and tiring." They have since been fully immersed in Mandarin lessons, meeting language partners from a local secondary school, learning about Chinese culture, and practising their language skills every day.
Beyond the classroom, students have visited a local school, taken part in cultural activities including fan decorating, plant rubbing art and lantern making, enjoyed traditional Chinese square dancing, competed in friendly sports matches, and even performed 'Sweet Caroline' at a cultural concert alongside their Chinese partners.
Throughout the trip, our students have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity and respect, proving to be fantastic ambassadors for De Lisle. We look forward to sharing more highlights as their adventure continues! πβ¨
