It is with great sadness 😔 I have decided to close my doors for now.
As many of you know I unexpectedly lost my husband Simon to a very rare form of cancer in February, we had no idea he was sick and within 2 weeks of a diagnosis he had passed away leaving myself,Lucie and Jacob.
It is with a heavy heart that I've decided to close as I have made my home my safe space and feel I need to be around others for help and support to face this journey with me.
I won't be far away as I am a new LSA at St Botolph's primary which I'm very excited about.

And to all my families I know it's been hard 😔

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas and a magical 2024 🩵🎄

‘Twas the night before Christmas
As the moon shone so bright,
All signs of the children
Were hidden from sight.
Away went the dolls house,
Away went the bricks,
Away went the train track,
Away the glue sticks.
Gone were the nappies,
Gone all the toys,
Gone snotty noses,
Gone went the noise.
Prams, high chairs, potties
Packed away in the shed,
As the house falls in silence
And I go up to bed.
Thoughts fill my mind
And memories appear,
Of all the adventures
We’ve had through the year.
The learning and growing,
Adventures and fun.
The songs that we’ve sung,
All the crafts we have done.
The cuddles, the laughter,
The magic kiss better.
The school runs that couldn’t
Have possibly been wetter.
Some days were tiring,
Some made me smile,
Most days were hard work,
But all were worthwhile.
To see how these children
Are growing to be
The most amazing small people
I ever did see.
So here’s to a new year,
To all that’s ahead,
As a hush does ascend
And I go up to bed.
May your Christmas be special
And full of delight.
Merry Christmas to all
And to all, a goodnight.

I wanted to show why childminders were a good option:

So here are just a few points that make Childminders such a great option:

🧸 Childminders are Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) & Paediatric First Aid qualified. They are required to provide in-depth play based learning & development and follow their own curriculum covering the 7 Areas of Learning.

🧸 Childminders offer a more individual level of care due to the lower adult - child ratios. This means a lot more 1-2-1 time with your child.

🧸 Childminders actively engage children in the local community and organise a diverse range of interactions from parks to farms and playgroups etc.

🧸 Childminders offer a nurturing home from home environment.

🧸 Childminders like nurseries, can also offer funded hours, accept childcare vouchers / tax free childcare.

My advice when considering childcare options is to ask yourself - where will your child be safe, cared for, nurtured and given access to the best learning opportunities. Most importantly, where will they be happiest and thrive!

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported me and still supports me. Its still a giant learning curve but I now know my worth and will carry on running my business my way ###
..The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message or call someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages, emails and phone calls.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner... All while being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... it’s one of the hardest things you will try and balance. If you give your time, you will sacrifice financial benefit. If you strive for financial benefit, you will have to sacrifice your time. It’s just the way it goes when your business is relying on you to survive and you’re relying on your business to provide!

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses... and hopefully more of us will stick around!

We have had the best week this week!!!! ❤️ we have splashed in the rain and puddles, been on the zip line everyday, raced around the bmx track on bikes, been paddling in the Brook, making clothes for barbie and much much more.......
