June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the importance of being yourself. At WBV, we are proud to be a school community where everyone is valued, respected, and supported, regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs.
Pride Month provides an opportunity to recognise the contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals throughout history and today, while also reflecting on the importance of kindness, acceptance, and equality for all.
By celebrating our differences and embracing what makes each of us unique, we continue to build a school culture based on respect, understanding, and belonging.

Today, we celebrate an extraordinary milestone — the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough.

For generations, he has inspired millions with his passion for the natural world, helping us to understand, appreciate, and protect our planet. His storytelling, curiosity, and dedication to conservation continue to encourage young people everywhere to care for the environment and the future of our world.

At Woodbrook Vale School, we thank Sir David for a lifetime of education, inspiration, and wonder.

Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David Attenborough! 🦋🌿🐘

On Sunday, the Y11 Geography students went to North Norfolk to carry out their GCSE fieldwork. The 77 students and 6 members of staff met eagerly on Sunday morning for the 4 hour journey eastwards.

Bright and early on Monday morning, students tucked into their full cooked breakfast ready for a long, and sunny, day ahead. The fieldwork involved attending 3 sites along the coastline; Salthouse, Weybourne and Sheringham, and at each they were carrying out geographical data collection techniques such as field sketches, beach profiles and pebble analysis.

On Tuesday, it was time to venture into Norwich to take part in the human geography study focusing on regeneration of the different areas of Norwich. Students were introduced to the plan for the day, and walked from Riverside through to the city centre where data was collected on the crime index, environmental quality and pedestrian count of the local area.

Onto the final day, and with students starting to feel exhausted, there was just enough time for a couple of activities before packing and setting off back to Loughborough. These included archery tag, high ropes and the sensory trail through the woods.

The staff members on the trip were extremely impressed with hard work, effort and attitude of the students through the 4 days. It was not just their focus on geographical studies, but their willingness to try new experiences, work as a team and generally stay positive!

Today is the Jour de la Francophonie, celebrating all the countries in the world where French is spoken.

Our Year 7 students have been tasked with finding the list by spotting the badges being worn by members of staff.

In other year groups in French lessons students will be learning about the countries and their flags, about sport across the French speaking world or other traditions. 🇫🇷

To all our Students, Staff and parents/carers who are celebrating, Eid Mubarak.

Some of our Year 10's took part in a creative resin workshop, carefully designing and crafting their own unique pieces.

The workshop has been a great opportunity for students to express themselves artistically, and they’ve produced some really lovely designs that they can be proud of. ✨
