Looking for a welcoming, friendly and caring dance school where your child can learn, grow and have fun?
Come and join Kate Mooney School of Dance! The school is led by an experienced and highly qualified dance teacher and examiner with over 20 years of teaching experience.
The school offers a wide range of classes for children from toddlers upwards, with something to suit every age and ability.
✨ Ballet Boppers – For children from nearly walking up to 3 years old. A fun, creative and play-based class where little ones develop coordination, confidence and musicality. Adults join in alongside their children, making it a lovely opportunity to dance and play together.
🩰 Preschool Ballet – Suitable for children aged 3–5 years. Children are introduced to the fundamentals of classical ballet through short exercises, dances and imaginative creative activities.
🎀 Classical Ballet – BBO syllabus classes for children aged 4+. We currently offer Pre-Primary, Primary, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4. Optional BBO ballet examinations, which are Ofqual recognised, are available for children who participate in these classes.
👞 Tap Dance – BBO syllabus classes for children aged 4+. We currently offer Pre-Primary, Primary, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4 Tap. Optional BBO tap examinations, which are Ofqual recognised, are available for participating students.
🎵 Hip-Hop & Jazz Dance Juniors – For children aged 4–9 years. A fun, upbeat class where children learn new steps and exciting routines, with plenty of opportunities to perform throughout the year.
⭐ Jazz & Commercial Dance – For children aged 9+ or those attending a Grade 1 syllabus class or above. Students develop their jazz technique through exercises and routines designed to improve strength, flexibility, coordination and performance skills.
🤸 AcroDancer Classes – BBO syllabus classes for children aged 4+. Combining elements of acrobatics and dance, these classes help children develop strength, flexibility, coordination and performance skills. Optional BBO AcroDancer examinations, which are Ofqual recognised, are available for participating students.
🎵Musical Theatre - A fun and energetic class where children can explore the exciting world of musical theatre! Students develop their acting, singing and dancing skills through a variety of performances throughout the year.
🎭 Youth Theatre - A creative and challenging class for young people of secondary school age. Students develop their acting technique , confidence, creativity and performance skills through drama games, improvisation, character work, script work and performances that take place throughout the year.
🎭Home Ed Performing Arts, Juniors and Seniors - A fun, creative and engaging performing arts class designed especially for home-educated children. Students explore a mixture of dance, drama, singing and performance, developing confidence, creativity, communication and teamwork in a supportive environment. Both groups perform regularly to audiences throughout the year.
🩰Adult Ballet - Classes explore the fundamentals of classical ballet, including posture, alignment, coordination, musicality and ballet technique, through a combination of barre and centre exercises. No previous ballet experience is necessary—just come along, have fun and enjoy dancing!
🎉 All first classes are FREE!
Classes are then charged on a half-termly basis.
