🌱 Supporting cleaner, greener school communities

We’re proud to be working with Easee and EVX Charging Solutions to install more than 90 electric vehicle chargers across 13 schools within the Oxford Diocesan Bucks Schools Trust.

A flagship project at Chiltern Hills Academy has already seen 16 chargers installed to support staff, visitors and an incoming electric minibus. This transition alone is expected to reduce emissions by around 7,000kg of CO₂ each year.

This initiative supports our wider commitment to cleaner transport, reduced emissions and healthier school environments for our pupils and communities. It has been made possible through the Government’s Workplace Charging Scheme, helping schools access funding and install infrastructure with no upfront cost.

As our Eco Lead, Ella Swinhoe, explains:
“This project supports our ambition to improve sustainability across our schools while ensuring practical benefits for staff, families and local communities.”

Together, we’re building sustainable, future-ready school environments across Buckinghamshire.

St Mary’s Primary School Aylesbury was honoured to receive the School or College Community Award at the Pride of Buckinghamshire Awards.

This recognition celebrates the outstanding work St Mary's School do to support their young carers, and they are incredibly proud that this important aspect of our school community has been recognised in such a special way.

A significant part of this success is down to the dedication and compassion of Miss Culliton. She works tirelessly to ensure that pupils with caring responsibilities at home have a safe and nurturing space within school, where they feel recognised, supported and truly valued beyond their day-to-day roles. Her commitment makes a meaningful difference to the lives of these children.

Rooted in the school values of respect, resilience and integrity, their young carers’ group enables pupils to connect with others who share similar experiences. It empowers them to build confidence, develop a sense of belonging and make a positive contribution to their community.

We are extremely proud of all the pupils involved and grateful to Miss Culliton for her exceptional work. Thank you, as always, to everyone involved for your continued support in helping the school create such a caring and inclusive school environment.
