💗Graduation 2026💗

Last friday we had our graduation for this years school leavers. They all got their offical graduation scrolls as well as a picture frame with their first and last picture at nursery to show them how much they have grown!

We want to wish our school leavers and all other children going to school in september the best of luck on their new adventures. We hope you all have a great time, although we will miss you all so much 🥺🎓

🍦Ice Cream Truck Roleplay/Sensory Play🍦

The children loved engaging with this activity. We used paint and cornflour to make a fun ice cream like sensory play alongside ice cream cones for the children to practice scooping ice cream.

The children also had fun pretending to make their own ice cream and serve it to each other, making up different fruit flavours to match the different colours.

With the warmer weather this week, the children have been enjoying lots of water play to help them stay cool! From splashing, pouring, and exploring different water activities, the children have been having so much fun.

Please remember to send your child in with a sun hat, suitable clothing, and a named water bottle so they can enjoy the sunshine safely.

🫟 🎨 Our Messy Play Area 🎨🫟

We love messy play! Messy play is a fantastic way for children to explore, discover, and learn through their senses. It helps to develop creativity, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence, all while having lots of fun!

We have this messy play display to show the children some rules for messy play, including staying clean and tidying up afterwards. We also have a colour display featuring the colours, their names, and the sign language signs for each colour.

🐞🐛 Mini Beast Window 🦋🐜

The children have loved learning about the different mini beasts in our environment. We have found so many while playing in the garden, as well as when we go on walks. 👣

The children also had so much fun getting crafty and making their own mini beasts for our window. They all love pointing out the different insects and who made them. 🎨

We had such a fun time learning and talking about space. The children loved playing with this fun sensory tray with "moon sand" this was made mixing our playsand with senitive skin shaving foam to make it just like moon sand - we added grey paint to make it look more like the surface of the moon 🌕

We listened to songs about the planets in our solar system and the different things in space 🔭🛰

We also watched a video about the moon landings and the children thought the astronauts walked in a funny way so we tried to walk like the astronauts do 👨🏾‍🚀👨🏻‍🚀

In honour of David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, the children did an activity focused on animals. 🐅🐆🐘🐊🐒

We had a tuff tray with lots of textures such as rice, sand, shaving foam, playdough, and tissue paper to represent a jungle environment.
During this activity the children were asked where many of the animals live (being on land or in the sky), and were able to identify them. We also talked about the different animals, the sounds they make and the things they eat.🦒🐫🦏🦛

At group time we watched a video called "Gorilla Quest" which is an animated video with David Attenborough exploring with his team to find a special family. 🦍
