Our BIG challenge is complete! 25 laps around the maze! ✅
Swallow and Skylark had a smaller space in the middle of the maze. Goldfinch and Swift did the laps around the whole maze! We got tired but pushed through!
The children should be very proud of themselves! They have not only completed all of the challenges, but have also raised a lot of money for Children in Need!

Day 5 Pudsey Challenge was a little bit different due to the weather. It wasn’t our BIG challenge we wanted but we are going to save it for Monday! However, that didn’t stop us! We did 25 laps around the hall ✅ Some of the older children challenged themselves do more laps and they did really well!

We are lacing up for our final challenge- make sure the trainers are ready!

Here it is...a truly magic garden! You can see from the before and after photographs how much hard work went in to the day from our incredible group of volunteers. It was so special to take the children in on Monday morning a class at a time to explore the area - they were truly inspired by how much care had been put in to it and I know it is a moment they won't forget. Thank you all!

I’ve just had one of my proudest days as headteacher at Longney so far. Working with a team of incredible parent and grandparent volunteers to create a truly magical garden for the children at school. It has been a day filled with joy, incredible effort and true community spirit. I can’t thank each and every person enough who was able to come along and worked solidly all day to create such an incredible space for the children. I won’t reveal the photos yet as we want the children to be the first to see it on Monday morning but we can’t wait to share it with you all. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart - a truly inspirational day.

Thank you so much to the Rotary Club Gloucester who generously donated £500 to go towards our outdoor play project at school. They kindly awarded us with this generous donation at the annual Rotary in Gloucester Community Awards 2025. We were very happy to be presented with the award on behalf of FOLS and can't thank them enough for their kind support.

Thank you so much to the wonderful Gloucester Men's Shed who have so generously donated some bespoke wooden pieces for our new garden area in school. They have created wooden signs reflecting our values and a beautiful wishing well to really make the place truly magical! We cannot thank them enough for their talent, kindness and generosity - it will make a huge difference to the children in school! Thank you as well to the Friends of Longney who are organising the regeneration of the garden - we can't wait until the working party day coming up soon when it all comes together!
